Mould silicone testing mainly conducts scientific testing and analysis on the key performance indicators and other items, objectively assessing the product quality grade and issuing a detailed test report, providing a basis for manufacturers' quality control and downstream users' product acceptance.
Testing content
Testing items:
Abrasion rates, apparent bulk densities, adsorption capacities, colour development changes, pore volumes, loss on heating, loss on ignition, silicon dioxide contents, iron contents, chloride contents, pH values, specific resistances, specific surface areas, cobalt chloride contents, carbon dioxide adsorption capacities, particle strengths and determinations of the non-explosive rates in water, etc.
Applicable samples:
Mould silicone, etc.
Testing Instruments and Equipment
Analytical balances: With the accuracy of 0.1 mg, used for the accurate weighing of the mould silicone samples, and they are the necessary equipment for determining the basic parameters such as the abrasion rates, loss on heating and loss on ignition.
Spectrophotometers: According to the standards such as GB/T 3049, used to determine the components such as the silicon dioxide and iron contents in the silicone, adopting the 1,10-phenanthroline spectrophotometric method for the quantitative analysis of the iron contents.
pH meters: Used to determine the pH values of the water extracts of the silicone.
Specific surface area determination instruments (nitrogen adsorption method): According to the GB/T 13390 standard, used to determine the specific surface areas of the silicone, evaluating their adsorption properties.
Test sieves: According to the GB/T 6003 standard, used for the determinations of the particle size distributions and apparent bulk densities of the silicone.
Constant temperature drying ovens and muffle furnaces: Used for the determinations of the loss on heating and loss on ignition, accurately controlling the heating temperatures and holding times.
